Description

Enjoy a hearty and comforting start to your day with this Ultimate Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Pizza. Featuring a biscuit crust topped with savory sausage gravy, fluffy scrambled eggs, and melted cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, this breakfast pizza is perfect for brunch or a filling morning meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Biscuit Crust

  • 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk

Sausage Gravy

  • ½ lb breakfast sausage
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Eggs and Cheese

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a pizza pan or line it with parchment paper. Flatten each biscuit dough piece into a 4–5 inch round. Press the biscuits together in the pan, pinching seams to form one solid crust. Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden.
  2. Cook the Sausage: While the crust bakes, cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Remove the sausage and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
  3. Make the Gravy: To the skillet drippings, add butter and whisk in the flour to create a roux. Slowly whisk in the whole milk, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens. Stir in the cooked sausage, black pepper, and garlic powder. Remove from heat.
  4. Scramble the Eggs: In a small bowl, whisk the eggs with water. Scramble the eggs in a separate pan over medium heat until just set but still moist.
  5. Assemble the Pizza: Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the pre-baked biscuit crust. Distribute the scrambled eggs on top of the gravy, then sprinkle with cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  6. Bake the Pizza: Return the assembled pizza to the oven and bake for another 8–10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh chives if desired. Slice and serve warm for a satisfying breakfast.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes or use hot breakfast sausage.
  • This recipe can be prepped the night before and baked fresh in the morning for convenience.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or an air fryer for best results.
