Description

This Turkey and Cranberry Wreath is a festive and delicious way to use up leftover holiday turkey. Made with flaky crescent roll dough filled with a flavorful mixture of shredded turkey, whole berry cranberry sauce, mayonnaise, Swiss cheese, celery, and green onions, then baked to golden perfection. It’s an inviting centerpiece for any holiday gathering or cozy meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough

Filling

  • 2 cups cooked turkey, shredded or chopped
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Topping

  • 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Arrange the Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 16 individual triangles. Lay them out in a circle on the prepared baking sheet with the wide ends toward the center and the pointed ends facing outward. Overlap the wide ends slightly to form a wreath shape, leaving a 4-inch opening in the center.
  3. Mix the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the shredded or chopped turkey, whole berry cranberry sauce, mayonnaise, shredded Swiss cheese, chopped celery, chopped green onions, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Add Filling to Dough Ring: Spoon the turkey mixture evenly around the base of the crescent dough ring, distributing it evenly over the wide ends of the triangles.
  5. Seal the Wreath: Fold the pointed ends of the crescent dough triangles over the filling and tuck the ends underneath to seal and shape the wreath securely.
  6. Apply Egg Wash and Toppings: Brush the top of the dough with the beaten egg to give it a beautiful golden color when baked. Sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds if desired for extra texture and visual appeal.
  7. Bake: Place the wreath in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Cool and Serve: Allow the wreath to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm, optionally accompanied by extra cranberry sauce on the side for dipping.
