Description

Crispy, golden-fried ravioli served with a flavorful marinara dipping sauce. This easy appetizer features breaded ravioli that are fried until perfectly crunchy, making them a delightful snack or party treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pack of ravioli (any filling you like)
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp Italian parsley, finely chopped
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Set Up the Breading Station: Prepare two shallow bowls—one for the eggs and one for the breadcrumb mixture. This setup makes breading the ravioli efficient and organized.
  2. Mix Eggs and Breadcrumbs: Crack the eggs into a shallow bowl and whisk thoroughly until smooth. In another shallow bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and finely chopped Italian parsley.
  3. Bread the Ravioli: Dip each ravioli piece into the whisked eggs, ensuring it is fully coated. Next, press the egg-coated ravioli into the breadcrumb mixture so the breadcrumbs stick well. Repeat this process for all ravioli.
  4. Heat the Oil: Pour vegetable oil into a heavy-bottomed pot to a depth of about 1-2 inches. Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C). To test if the oil is ready, sprinkle a pinch of flour into it—if it sizzles immediately, the temperature is right.
  5. Fry the Ravioli: Carefully add 3-4 ravioli to the hot oil at a time to avoid overcrowding. Fry each side for 1-2 minutes until the ravioli are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve: Arrange the fried ravioli on a serving plate and serve warm with 1/2 cup of marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Use any type of ravioli you prefer, including cheese, meat, or vegetable-filled varieties.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of black pepper or Italian seasoning to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature to prevent soggy or greasy ravioli.
  • Drain fried ravioli on a wire rack instead of paper towels to keep them crisp.
  • Leftover fried ravioli can be reheated in the oven at 375°F for 5-7 minutes to restore crispiness.
