Description

Crab & Cheese Crescent Delight is a quick and delicious appetizer featuring flaky crescent roll dough filled with a creamy, flavorful crab and cheese mixture. Perfectly baked to golden brown perfection, these bite-sized treats are ideal for parties, snacks, or light meals.

Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Dough

  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough

Filling

  • 1/2 cup crab meat (canned, fresh, or imitation)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles for filling.
  3. Make the Filling: In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix the crab meat, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined and creamy.
  4. Fill the Crescents: Spoon about 1 to 2 tablespoons of the crab mixture onto the wide end of each crescent dough triangle, spreading evenly.
  5. Roll Crescents: Carefully roll each triangle starting from the wide end toward the point, sealing the edges gently to enclose the filling.
  6. Arrange for Baking: Place the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly to allow for expansion during baking.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescents are puffed up, golden brown, and crispy.
  8. Cool: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the crescents cool for a few minutes to set the filling and avoid burning your mouth.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and fresh flavor, then serve warm for best taste and texture.

Notes

  • You can use canned, fresh, or imitation crab meat depending on preference and availability.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the filling mixture.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to ensure easy mixing with other ingredients.
  • Serve with a side of cocktail sauce or a light salad to complement the richness.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in a toaster oven to maintain crispiness.
