Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Dough
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
Filling
- 1/2 cup crab meat (canned, fresh, or imitation)
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Garnish
- Fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles for filling.
- Make the Filling: In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix the crab meat, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined and creamy.
- Fill the Crescents: Spoon about 1 to 2 tablespoons of the crab mixture onto the wide end of each crescent dough triangle, spreading evenly.
- Roll Crescents: Carefully roll each triangle starting from the wide end toward the point, sealing the edges gently to enclose the filling.
- Arrange for Baking: Place the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly to allow for expansion during baking.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescents are puffed up, golden brown, and crispy.
- Cool: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the crescents cool for a few minutes to set the filling and avoid burning your mouth.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and fresh flavor, then serve warm for best taste and texture.
Notes
- You can use canned, fresh, or imitation crab meat depending on preference and availability.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the filling mixture.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to ensure easy mixing with other ingredients.
- Serve with a side of cocktail sauce or a light salad to complement the richness.
- Leftovers can be reheated in a toaster oven to maintain crispiness.
